Advantage Performance is offering owners of 1996-2002 Vipers a reasonably priced, easy to install kit that provides facia fed high-pressure air to the portions of the airbox not fed by the NACA duct.

Many Viper professional race teams are getting their airbox air not from the NACA duct, but entirely from the area behind the grill opening of the facia where high-pressure air builds up.

Your OEM airbox is wider than your NACA duct, it extends past the NACA opening about 2 inches on each side of the duct. Stock, that extra wide part of the airbox is drawing in hot air from the radiator area. This kit will block off that hot air and only allow cooler high-pressure air that's come in through the grill opening in the facia.

Once installed, this kit will augment the air the NACA duct is admitting into the airbox with ambient temp high pressure fresh air.

Note too, that with this VFAK you can remove the NACA duct if you choose, seal the hood opening, and take full advantage of the high speed ram.

You can't do that with a plastic aftermarket ramair panel - it's permanently formed to fit under the NACA duct. Whether the duct is in place or not, a plastic panel will not give maximum airflow like this kit does.

The VFAK replaces the OEM access panel.

In this picture, the panel has been removed, the VFAK has been installed, and you can now see through to the area behind the facia where the high pressure air builds up.

The removal of the OEM panel, and the addition of the high density foam from the kit, creates a walled passageway for the high-pressure air coming into the front of the facia to shoot right up and into your airbox!

The foam forms three walls of the ram air chamber. The underside of the hood forms the 'lid' of the ram air chamber when the hood is closed. The foam is sightly compressed and follows the contour of the underside of the hood; the only place left for the high-pressure air to go is into the front of your airbox!

The kit sells for $43.95 + $6 s&h within continental USA.

Similar applications for Vettes, F-bodied cars, etc. sell for hundreds of dollars! Why pay more for the same air?

It comes ready to install. No permanent modifications (drilling, gluing, double-faced tape, etc) to your car are necessary.

Installation is easy and takes less than 15 minutes using two simple hand tools.

NOTE: Vipers come from the factory with a thick rubber weatherstrip on the inside edge of the upper facia. It runs between the headlights along that inside edge. Open your hood in the front (don't tilt it forward), look above the snake head medallion on the facia following the facia as it goes up, then turns downward and verify the weatherstrip is there on your car. That weatherstrip MUST be there in order to install this kit in its' intended manner.

September 25,2003 Milan Dragway.

On a very cool, late-evening drag session with a local Corvette club, the owner of a '96 GTS running ETs that night averaging in the 12.52-12.55 range saw the ETs drop to the mid 12.30s in back to back before/after runs after installing the Viper Fresh Air Kit.

That's about 15hp for less than $45.
