What would you consider,
To be A PRODUCTIVE DAY;
One in which you accomplished much,
And, everything went just your way?
You cleaned the house inside and out,
Put everything in its place;
From the attic…to the basement,
Cleaning, cleaning…much like running a race.
The children bathed and tucked in bed,
Now, nothing else to do;
There’s time now for just you,
Or maybe…for you…two.
Or at your job…you excelled,
Finished your work in record time;
My goodness…maybe you should consider,
Up the corporate ladder…to climb.
Perhaps an investment paid,
The highest possible dividend;
You got back so much more,
Much more than you did spend.
What do you call A PRODUCTIVE DAY,
What is its success based upon?
What did you accomplish,
Before the day was fully gone?
These things are only temporary,
At best they come and they go;
A PRODUCTIVE DAY means different things,
Different things to us…as we grow.
There comes a time for each of us,
When time shall be no more;
Every beginning has an ending,
What does our future have in store?
When our vision is set right,
And, we focus on what lies ahead;
Each day is but a stepping stone,
And, the future…we need not dread.
So, keep that far-off vision,
Ever clear before you;
Head in that direction…daily,
To that vision…always be true.
Each day…A PRODUCTIVE DAY,
Doing what’s on hand;
Rewarding? Yes…it is,
Exactly as it was planned!
