************
Attitudes...not just a play on words,
Our reaction comes from our heart;
When first we are approached,
Yes, from the very start.
What's down in the well,
Comes up in the bucket;
What do we have inside,
Is it to our disgrace...or to our benefit?
It won't be long...out they will come,
When, at least we expect it;
Words...kind words,
Or will they be, just the opposite?
The tongue...no man can tame it, (Js.3:8)
Though try and try, we do;
Words pop out...when least expected,
Unkind words...from our mouth, we spew.
For with the tongue we bless our God,
And with it...we curse man; (Js.3:9)
Made in the image of God,
This poison...out, across the land.
Blessing and cursing...should not be, (Js.3:10)
Bitter water...and the sweet;
From the heart of the Believer,
These two...ought never meet.
So, let our attitude be one of wisdom, (Js.3:17)
That comes from Above;
Pure, peaceable, gentle, yielding,
Mercy, fruitful...overflowing with God's Love.
This fruit of righteousness, (Js.3:18)
Is only sown in peace;
When our mouth is open,
Only God's Love...release.
Let this be our attitude,
First...a change of heart;
The only bridle for our tongue,
God's Love...that, we shall impart!
