Our SPIRIT is at peace,
At last…it's found true rest;
At one with our Maker,
God's ways are truly…best.

Now…our SOUL…a different story,
It's sad tale…I shall tell;
Our mind, will, and emotions,
This, the hard place to dwell.

Sometimes the mind is racing,
Seldom is it at ease;
The warfare there…tremendous,
Disillusioned…it cannot be pleased.

And, our will…complete confusion,
As back and forth it spins;
What would we like to do,
Please God, myself or them?

Emotions like a rollercoaster,
As up and down they go;
Fasten your safety-belt,
Try not to let your emotions show.

This is where the battle is,
SOUL…with the SPIRIT…fights;
All these strongholds to tear down,
In this Armageddon…no one delights.

Still, looking up ahead,
One more area…we view;
That of our BODY,
Beat it into submission…we cannot do.

Our BODY is the battlefield,
Upon which our SOUL does play;
And, outwardly…it's apparent,
The battle could go either way.

But, one day…in a moment,
In the twinkling of an eye;
We'll be changed into His image,
That's a promise upon which we can rely.

This corruptible…put on incorruption,
Battle of BODY and SPIRIT;
Now, completely won,
He said it, and I believe it!

Until that great and glorious day,
When the dead IN CHRIST shall rise;
Let's focus on Christ's victory,
IN HIM…the battle's won!
