What You've begun in the Spirit,
Let us not finish in the flesh;
Cause us to lean on You,
Enter into Your rest.

So many times Your Spirit broods,
O'er us, as a mother hen;
He draws us close…ever so close,
But then, we choose and we are off again.

Your Spirit leaves us free to choose,
That still, small voice;
Or would we choose to listen to,
Our own way…that's our choice.

Oft times a mighty work of God,
We've seen across the land;
God blessed...restored...brought healing,
Reached out, with His long hand.

The tendency has always been,
To try to keep it going;
Programs devised, by mortal man,
Our carnality…now showing.

Why can't we just believe that He,
Is well-able to finish;
What He has begun,
Our hand will just diminish.

God's looking for a people,
Content with Him, will be;
Who walk daily with Him,
This is His heart-felt plea.

People who go with Him,
Not trying to rush ahead;
When He stops…they stop,
And, don't go on...instead.

Those who…so sensitive will be,
They never go their way;
Listen…listen carefully,
To all He has to say.

Have we tried long and hard enough,
Discouraged and undone;
Giving it all we have…and still,
Round we go in circles…never really begun?

What is the answer,
Could it possibly be;
Something so plain…so simple,
As God speaking through you and me?

A Theocratic government,
Begun and run by God;
Love ruling in the hearts of men,
And, not by the rod.

So, let's just stop and listen,
While down upon our knees;
And do absolutely...nothing,
Until our God does speak!
