Are there things that bind you,
Keep you from moving on;
Perhaps…even good things,
If they bind…they should be gone.

Many things can hold us back,
And, so it's always been;
It's an age-old problem,
Ever since the world began.

Our LORD wants to cut away,
Cut away…all that binds;
That we might be free…IN HIM,
Not bound-up…in our minds.

So, let Him cut away,
As a Surgeon…He is skilled;
By His Spirit…painless surgery,
This has always been His will.

When we resist His Spirit,
Want to do it our own way;
O my…that is painful,
When our own flesh…we do flay!

He knows how we are made,
For it's He who has made us;(Ps.139:13-18)
Don't rush on…ahead of Him,
Let Him do the work…by His Spirit.

God's timing is perfect,
Don't touch the Surgeon's hand;
He has everything under control,
He has everything…already planned!
