Are we shallow Christians,
Outside of our vessel highly polished;
On the outside…a thing of beauty,
But, the inside…should be banished?

Appearances can be deceiving,
What we see…is what we get;
If shallow is what we're portraying,
Then, shallow is what they'll get.

Or, have we been through the fire,
The test…our will against His;
The purifying fire of His Love,
That burns away our dross?

There's a deep working of our God,
Happening on the inside;
Out of the sight of man,
That place where two wills collide.

If we think it's a battle of the fittest,
Then, we know we cannot win;
But, this has been man's problem,
Since the world did first begin.

As Believers…we often forget,
Where our true life…now is;
'Tis not carnal...but spiritual,
For, believe me…spiritual always wins.

Now, "God is Love"…as it's written,
So, we must agree;
And, His Love…unconditional,
Therein lies the victory…for you and me.

Our spirit…which was dead,
In sin and trespasses;
Hath, He "quickened"…made alive,(Eph.2:1)
And, our God has no limits.

As His Spirit speaks so softly,
To our spirit…deep within;
His deep calling unto our deep,
Then, something of great beauty…begins.

These…the deep workings of our God,
Dealing with our mind, will, and emotions;
And, He always deals with Love,
That Love…deep and boundless.

We needn't fear His dealings,
So very gentle…He;
The friction only arises,
When we choose not to agree.

Unconditional Love…He offers,
Painless…unless we resist;
By resisting the Potter's hand,
Forever a clump of clay…if we desist.

Allow those deep workings of our God,
Be transformed…inside to out;
While the boiling goes on …inside,
To the top…purest gold…no doubt.

Gold is our God's nature,
So pure…no need to refine;
When His nature comes forth in us,
Others shall see…and God shall be glorified!
