Doctrine is pretty important,
Although there are two kinds;
One is SOUND doctrine,
The other FALSE doctine…it binds.

SOUND doctrine sets you free,
To be all that you can be;
From God's inspired Word…we get it,
The Good News…it decrees.

FALSE doctrine…on the other hand,
Devised by cunning man;
Whereby they lie in wait,
To deceive…God's children.

Drawing little children,
Unto themselves…not God;
Keeping them forever young,
Serving man…and not our LORD.

Taking Scripture out of context,
To say what they want…by twisting;
Control and manipulation,
Their own kingdom…they are building.

It's time for us to grow up,
Children…no longer be;
In the unity of faith,
The knowledge of God's Son…have we.

Unto that perfect man,
Measure and fulness of Christ;
Not tossed about by man's doctrine,
God's inspired Word…will suffice.

Speaking the truth in love,
Growing up…into Him;
With Christ as Head of the body,
And, we complete IN HIM.

Joined and knit together,
With every joint supplying;
Causes growth of His body,
With His love…ever increasing!
