Where is your faith coming from,
What is its source of supply;
In your own abilities trusting,
Or, on God…you do rely?

Or, is it a combination,
A little God…a little “me”;
Not too good a combination,
On this…sooner or later…we’ll agree.

There comes a time,
In each and every life;
When our own abilities are lacking,
Things pile up…adding to our strife.

When we’ve come to the end of our rope,
And, truly…lost our way;
This can be the very time,
We’ll turn to Him…and pray.

Realize the impossibility,
When…in “us” we did try;
Giving it our “best shot”,
On Him…we did not rely.

Give up our sin…invite Him in,
Now, Christ…no longer “me”;
And, with great joy in our hearts,
From a lifetime of sin…set free.

Yes, farther down the road,
We turned from “me” to “Thee”;
Then, if we’re not careful,
We turn again from “Thee”…to “me”.

What God has begun by His Spirit,
We try to finish in the flesh;
And, then we wonder why,
Our life…again…is a mess.

It’s no longer His Kingdom,
That we try to build;
But, one of our own,
And, we find that we are unskilled.

This Heavenly Kingdom,
Spiritual…New Jerusalem;
Is a Kingdom from Above,
Not built by “us”…but by God’s wisdom.

He has begun to build,
And, it’s He who shall finish;
He needs no help from us,
His will…to accomplish.

But, it is His will to include us,
In His purpose and His plan;
Co-laborers with Christ,
Is what God has offered man.

Let’s not run on…ahead of Him,
But, seek His will…in all we do;
And, by faith in His Word,
We’ll see His plan come true.
