We have been wrong…we have sinned,
Done things not pleasing in God's eyes;
And, time after time…we've run to Him,
Needing what only forgiveness…supplies.

And, because of JESUS…we are fully restored,
He just says, "Go and sin no more."; (Jn.8:11)
Justified…Just as if we've never sinned,
Washed by the Blood of JESUS…o'er and o'er.

We thank God for His provision,
Bowed-down with sin…we cannot live;
What an all-powerful God,
And, still…He chooses to forgive.

He will pick up the pieces,
When our lives…completely shattered;
And, He makes us anew,
Though all the pieces…we have scattered.

Now, has anyone hurt you…deeply,
Causing much pain…and distress;
You cannot possibly forgive them,
Of your life…they've made a mess?

The wounds go so very deep,
The scars…forever showing;
Think they have deserved our wrath,
And, that pain and bitterness keeps growing.

It gnarls-up…inside of us,
Ties our stomach into knots;
Ruins our health and well-being,
Why not give what forgiveness allots?

When we forgive others,
We're following our LORD's lead;
He's forgiven us…'tis simple,
Follow His example, in our lives…indeed!

Still, there's a greater need,
In our own lives…for forgiveness;
Sometimes, we can't forgive ourselves,
Although we try…still…it is useless.

Why are we so hard on ourselves,
Could it be foolish pride;
So ashamed that we are "human",
From this fact…we want to hide.

What would others think,
Oh…if only they knew;
What makes you think that they do not,
They knew it…before you!

Our God has forgiven us,
The price…paid in full;
Because of this…and only this,
Let's forgive others and ourselves…too!
