~~~Ingathering~~~
Rev. 7:13 “Then one of the elders asked me, 'These in white robes--who are they, and where did they come from?'
14 I answered, 'Sir, you know.' And he said, 'These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.
16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.'"
(NIV)
************
There is a glorious day coming,
When the saints are gathered in;
An ingathering…unlike we have known,
Clothed in white garments…free from sin.
O day of triumph…total victory,
The saints down through the years;
Coming together…’round the Throne of God,
Crowds and crowds…the masses.
There is my dear Grandma,
Although she has been changed;
Still, I would always know her,
A new and glorified body…exchanged.
Never to know corruption,
Eternal…in all ways;
This is our real life,
Glorified…for all our days.
And, here are my two children,
Who…in infancy, passed away;
Full-grown…now, are they,
With eyes that shine from Heaven’s glory.
Over there…another friend,
I’d not seen her for many years;
Her face did glow with Eternal Love,
No longer any tears.
I recognize Saul…who became St. Paul,
And, Martin Luther King;
Those who have gone before us,
God’s Word to us…they did bring.
A rich inheritance…we have,
Saints of God in their lifetime;
Transformed by God’s Love,
Sometimes taken in their prime.
Still, they left a legacy,
Lives well-lived…an example;
They left a road map and a guide,
The Good News lived out…the Gospel.
A temporary parting,
Sadness…but not forever;
For the day shall come…reunion,
As it does say…in Scripture.
There will come an ingathering,
Gathering unto Him;
Our Lord and Saviour…Christ Jesus,
And, He shall say: “Welcome, Pilgrim.”
O most glorious of all days,
Perfect and pure bliss;
The saints gathering together,
‘Tis a day we dare not miss!
Invite Him into your life,
Let Your heart become His home;
Then, when the saints are gathered in,
We shall be gathered at His Throne!
