If only once…in each lifetime,
We are truly blessed;
With a friend who is so close to us,
Proven…through each test.

We are most blessed…of all mankind,
When we come upon a kindred spirit;
Close…from the very start…are we,
Cherish…do not fear it!

We seem to think and talk and do,
The same as twins…are we;
So comfortable with this friend,
Apart, not us…never to be!

Time…space and distance,
Matters not…to us;
For when we come together,
There is always that same trust.

When one of us departs,
This earthly home…here;
We have the blessed assurance,
Again, we shall meet…over there.

So, look for that kindred spirit,
While on earth…you do dwell;
Someone to walk and talk with,
Your deepest secrets…tell.

A little bit of Heaven,
While still on this earth;
A foretaste of the heavenlies,
A treasure of the greatest worth!
