Whoever coined that phrase,
I must say that I like it;
Peace is a rare commodity,
For, we usually have the opposite.

How do we acquire…peace,
What is its root…its source?
We'll try everything…go anywhere,
But, we'll find it…introrse (within).

Peace is a Person,
Our Lord Jesus Christ;
Have you once stopped to notice,
All our questions…answered…IN HIM?

Yes, within…is the Source of Peace,
A surprise to one and all;
Peace comes not from the outside,
But, soon it shall be seen…overall.

We have to possess it,
This Peace…deep within;
Before we can give it out,
That's the secret…therein.

Shalom…or Peace, as we call it,
Not for long…detained,
For, out it flows…like a river,
It cannot be…contained.

And, once that river starts,
Only we can ever stop it;
But, to hold it all inside,
What would be the purpose?

There is nothing more beautiful,
Than a river free and flowing;
Let the Peace of God flow out,
Reaching others…as it's going!
