************
In the darkest night time,
When nothing, we can see;
Confused…completely baffled,
Filled with terror…are we.
All around…total darkness,
Our view completely obscured;
With no hope for anything better,
On the horizon…something there…protrudes.
Was it a flash of lightning,
Or just our hopeful wish;
Just a beam of light,
To make sense out of this?
Now, we can make it out,
Its silhouette is there;
Standing straight and tall,
Immobilized…not going anywhere.
And, now a brilliant beam of light,
Comes 'round and lights our path;
Causing darkness to flee away,
Left in its wake…its after-math.
'Tis a Lighthouse…set high upon the hill,
Its beacon sweeping 'cross the land;
Reaching out…reaching out,
Strong and sturdy…it does stand.
Stand we on the land,
Or upon a troubled sea;
Our Lighthouse…on the hill,
Pushes back the darkness…causing it to flee!
