Where is your focus…today,
On the PAST – FUTURE – NOW?
The choice is up to us,
What we are reaping…we did already sow.

The PAST…now who can change it,
For the dye is already cast;
We can’t erase a bit of it,
We can’t hold onto it…making it last.

The PAST is gone forever,
Like sand…it slips through our fingers;
We did the best that we could,
Still, it can haunt us…if we let it linger.

And, the FUTURE…who can tell,
What is down that road;
If we could predict it,
Could we carry that heavy load?

The FUTURE…good or not so,
There’s very little that we an change;
And, if indeed…we could,
Just what would we rearrange?

The PAST is gone forever,
And the FUTURE is unsure;
Why would we even want to ‘go there’,
Let’s hold onto something more secure.

What is happening right NOW,
What is within our grasp?
NOW is really all we have,
Grab a hold of it…with a firm clasp.

NOW can be so very special,
When our focus is clear;
We can see just what we do have,
Hold it close…hold it so very dear.

The PAST…we can learn from it;
But, never can we go back;
Closure is what we need,
It finishes…what we and others lack.

The FUTURE…is uncharted,
We know not what’s around the bend;
We can plan for it…surely,
Still, we don’t know how our plans will end.

But, NOW…that is so different,
At this time…we’re in control;
And, our choices can be good ones,
Our life made better…as a whole.

Let’s live our lives…NOW,
For NOW is all there really is;
And, our times are in God’s hands,
As onward…it rushes!
