* Sands Of The Sea *

Gen.32:12 “And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.”

************

So shall your seed be many,
As the sand of the sea;
God’s promise to Abraham and Sarah,
But, by faith…this was to be.

Time was marching on,
Still nothing changed in their lives;
Where was this promised son,
Now, entered doubt and strife.

As we do…so did they,
Trying to do it on our own;
Rushing ahead of the Lord,
Impatient…they had grown.

A son was born…that of the flesh,
Ishmael was his name;
A son to Abraham and Hagar,
Not the son of promise…could he claim.

The years…they passed,
Now both were very old;
Truly, no hope whatsoever,
No promised son did they hold.

But, Abraham began to see,
Although not with his natural eye;
He knew if it were to be,
He must believe…God’s Word to him, not deny.

Things really seemed impossible,
Now, this is when God acts,
When our own resources are all gone,
When faith replaces facts!

Isaac was born…
The son of promise…he;
Think of the rejoicing that took place,
This old couple…God had heard their plea.

And, was Isaac the first,
Among many…as the sands of the sea;
Look in the Book of Matthew,
From Christ Jesus…back…all the genealogies.

Look forward…to all who have “new birth”,
By faith…believing on God’s Son;
As many as the sands of the sea,
Just as He spoke…it has been done.

We too…are now rejoicing,
In His Family are we;
The Family of Faith…God’s Family,
A child of the King are we!
