************
How would we ever learn to TRUST,
Would we ever learn it at all;
If all our problems were tiny,
If each problem was so very small?
When all is going along just fine,
Nothing…in our lives amiss;
We’re sitting on top of the world,
Each day is total bliss.
But, come along a problem,
We need time out…to think;
Maybe we can handle that one,
Without a doubt and not an eye need blink.
Oh, but things are quite different,
When something is out of our control;
A problem that is so very big,
That our peace of mind…it stole.
Where to go…what to do,
Shall I do this or that?
Totally out of my control,
Down there…on my face…flat!
O’ woe is me…I am undone,
There’s nothing that I can do;
My hands are tied…as it were,
All my confidence…away it flew!
In times of desperation,
We find what we’re made of;
We need a friend’s reassurance,
We need to feel their love.
Some are blessed with many friends,
And, some have but a few;
What of those who have none,
Oh, my…what do they do?
When we are at our weakest,
So vulnerable are we;
Some have a spouse to lean on,
But, not all are so blessed…you see.
I’ve learned…and the hard way,
When all is said and done;
There in only One who won’t fail us,
Father God…in the Person of His Son.
Christ Jesus sent the Holy Ghost,
Our Comforter…to be;
And, He does His job so very well,
Doubt and fear…shall have to flee.
We can TRUST Him to see us through,
As…moment by moment we lean;
Surrendered to His perfect will,
As…on His truths we glean.
He will build us up…encourage,
Even send others to help us on our way;
His methods are without limit,
From His task…He will not stray.
Yes, we can TRUST Him…totally,
We’ll know Him as our Friend;
In every situation that we find ourselves,
His promises are…Yea and Amen!
