TEARS

Rev. 7:17 "For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

Rev. 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

************

Tears...tears, they are cleansing,
Different sizes and shapes...they come in;
The tears from a bump on the knee,
Or when one is wracked with sin.

A babe in arms,
Will shed a tear;
Whether in pain…or not,
Whenever they notice...Mom is near.

Tiny children fall down,
When first learning to walk;
Oh, the pain they feel,
Learn to cry…even before they can talk.

First day at school is often hard,
On the new pupil…and the Mother;
All our firsts in life,
Different degrees of trauma.

Our first romance…our first broken heart,
The one we thought would never mend;
When would the pain stop,
Would it ever end?

Then, the tears of joy,
That come with wedded bliss;
The bride, the groom…everyone,
So much love and tenderness.

Oh, how the tears do flow,
With each happy and sad occasion;
Sometimes…we feel them coming,
Sometimes…they come so sudden.

Tears for a loved one,
We shall no longer see;
We weep for ourselves,
And, what can no longer be.

There's tears of sorrow…tears of joy,
Of happiness and of pain;
Perhaps the saddest…tears of all,
Are hardest to explain.

The tears that wake us…late at night,
That cause us loss of sleep;
The tears from deep down inside,
That cause our very soul to weep.

When things aren't right…on the inside,
No peace…deep within;
Our soul is torn and tattered,
So broken are we…destroyed by sin.

It eats away at us,
Little pieces…then, big chunks;
Before we know it…nothing left,
We are completely undone.

Seems like most of us,
To this place will come;
Sooner or later,
A mess…our life becomes.

We see our need…we stand alone,
We're exhausted…all worn out;
Nobody can help us, though some have tried,
To the end of ourselves…without a doubt.

About this time,
And none too soon;
We feel the gentle "drawing",
From the One who is Triune.

Again, the tears do flow,
As we see our need;
Sorry for our sinful life,
To His voice, now…we do heed.

And, asking for forgiveness,
Invite JESUS in;
We turn around…and go the other way,
Walk away from sin.

Tears of gratitude,
From deep within us…flow;
Love reaches deep into our hearts,
Pushes out all sorrow.

Tears still come…from time to time,
Cannot help but be;
But, now things are different,
My Father comforts me.

And, on that great and glorious day,
When time shall be no more;
He'll wipe away every shed tear,
As He opens Heaven's door!
