A Thankful Heart

Psa. 100: 1 “A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be THANKFUL unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

Do we have a thankful heart,
For all the blessings He has bestowed;
All the answered prayer,
All the favor He has shown?

Do we tend to run on our merry way,
Caught-up in the cares of every day;
Or do we take the time,
To thank our LORD that we can pray?

And, after prayer do we,
Still carry all those cares;
Or do we really leave them at the Cross,
Our burden…He gladly bears.

A thankful heart…all He requires,
Remember to take the time;
Thank our LORD for being there,
For knowing He hears us…each and every time.

And, more than simply hearing us,
He knows what is best;
We can trust His judgment,
Our hearts can be at rest.

So many times the answer comes,
In ways so very different;
Not what we thought we wanted...needed,
But, in His wisdom…we’re confident.

A thankful heart…all He requires,
Remember to take the time;
Thank our LORD for being there,
For knowing He hears us…each and every time.
