THANKFUL!

Luke 17:11 “And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”

Are you truly THANKFUL,
For each and every day;
THANKFUL for another chance,
THANKFUL in every way?

Perhaps your life is very hard,
There is a lot piled-high upon your plate;
Not enough hours in the day,
Some things will just have to wait.

Or maybe your health is failing,
And, not much that you can do;
Still, you want to be optimistic,
You don’t want to sit around and cry, “Boo-Hoo”.

Have your finances dwindled,
Now, you don’t have even an extra dime;
You’re busy working…long hours,
Yet, nothing is left…all the time?

Let’s face reality…now,
These things may all be true;
With so much befalling us,
What else can we do?

Maybe it’s time to alter our vision,
Focus on what’s ahead…not past;
Because what is happening right now,
Isn’t forever…it won’t last.

Have we considered the possibility,
That maybe we are blessed;
When our plate is piled-high,
And, we don’t have too much…rest?

What of those who are no longer needed,
And still…their lives go on;
Nothing to do…no purpose,
Nothing to do…from dawn to dawn?

Or in a sick bed…somewhere,
With nothing that they can do;
Oh, they’d like to be active,
And, to be helpful…too.

Yes, they were always busy,
Now, inactive they must stay;
But, you know…there is something they can do,
For each of us…they can pray.

Now, our finances…a different story,
We have a ‘life-style’ to maintain;
We need bigger…better…faster,
Life…for us…just can’t be ‘plain’.

Simplicity…we won’t have it,
For us…it’s always been ‘the best’;
We must keep that standard,
We can never settle for ‘second-best’.

Let’s stop a minute…now,
What is life all about;
Are we THANKFUL for what we have,
THANKFUL…beyond any doubt?

That’s something to consider,
For we really are blessed;
Let’s be THANKFUL for all we have,
Peace shall follow…giving us rest!
