Why would we…as Christians,
Let our doctrines divide us;
JESUS' plan…always, that we be One,
As He is…with the Father…thus.

Wars fought in the name of God,
Down through eons…go;
Believers killing Believers,
These things, ought not to be so.

Religion will divide us,
When, close-minded we become;
God's Love will unite us,
He will make us One.

So, lay aside your "pet doctrines",
You "sacred cows" and such;
Lay them on God's altar,
Let His pure fire consume that stuff.

Focus on our common beliefs,
And, let our God build;
A very, unique Temple…His Body,
Not this one…that's self-willed.

As lively stones…He gathers,
Scoops us up…one by one;
And, when He puts together,
A thing of beauty…we become.

Are you tired of these walls we build,
These walls that can only divide?
Then, let's do something about it,
Make up our minds…decide.

Man's efforts haven't done it,
All best intentions...as naught;
We've gone about it in the wrong way,
No peace on earth…the way we've sought.

When we seek first the Kingdom of our God,
His rulership…His reign;
All else shall be added to us,
His Word promises this…over and over again.

Why not take Him at His Word,
For surely, we've tried it all;
Perhaps, He really does know best,
Let Him tear down those walls.

Let Him build us into that Temple,
The place for His dwelling;
Then, we shall know…'twas not our will,
But, entirely His doing.

Peace shall dwell…on all the earth,
Good will to all mankind;
The lion and the lamb lay down,
One…with God…true peace, we find.

So, let our God tear down those walls,
That foolish men have built;
Wrongly trying to control…conform,
And, God's Spirit…nearly killed.

Let there be order…surely,
Led by God's Spirit in all ways;
These are the Sons of God,
It's what His Word does say!
