AN "URGENCY"

Phil.4:6 “Do not be ANXIOUS about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
(NIV)

Do you feel an “urgency”,
AN “URGENCY” in your life?
Not to be confused with “anxious”,
For that only leads to strife.

The two are incompatible,
Together…they can’t exist;
Still…no matter how hard we try,
“Anxious” will always persist.

Taken full-circle…what is the end,
When “anxious” we indulge?
Why…sin, sickness, and death,
This is what “anxious” will divulge.

Is this what we really want,
“Anxious” we want to be?
I think not…and on this,
I think we all can agree.

So, let’s be “anxious” for nothing,
Give it no place…whatsoever;
Let’s erase it from our lives,
A worthwhile choice…endeavor.

There is however…an “urgency”,
And, that is quite okay;
A desire to accomplish all,
And that…without delay.

The only difference and it’s plain,
Not in our own strength…here;
Bring all things to our Father,
For He is always near.

To our prayers and supplication,
He has an attentive ear;
He wants to be included,
In our hopes, dreams, and in our tears.

Things of “urgency”…His specialty,
The impossible…His best work;
His delight is in our relationship,
He and each one of us…teamwork.

After the “urgency” has passed,
Let’s remember…on bended knee;
To thank Him for His presence,
For all He’s done for you and me.

A thankful heart is all He asks for,
When we know He is our strength;
“Anxious” is far-removed,
“Urgency” takes precedence.
