************
I've seen crosses made of gold,
Bedecked with jewels rare;
Costly rubies, emeralds, diamonds,
With pearls scattered everywhere.
Some carved out of ivory,
Embellished...every one;
Jewels of all shapes and colors,
Everything called precious, beneath the sun.
The most beautiful of all crosses,
Is the one hewn out of wood;
The one on which my Saviour hung,
Doing...what I never could.
Sin was an issue,
Since Adam...mankind trapped;
In the throlls of death...forever,
Held, firmly, in its grasp.
On that day, it was appointed,
One Perfect Sacrifice;
Blood shed for atonement,
God and mankind made aright.
So, my choice today and always,
That rugged Cross for me;
Thank You, JESUS, for your sacrifice,
All who believe, are now set free.
