All of mankind has waited,
Peace on earth to see;
Wars and rumors of wars,
How long was this to be?

Still, 'twas prophecied,
So many years before;
That Messiah would be born,
Peace on earth…to restore.

Born of a virgin,
Yes, He would be;
A Saviour…Deliverer,
He would set His people free.

'Twas promised so very long ago,
Almost forgotten…it would be;
Still, there were those who looked in scrolls,
And, searched the skies…a sign to see.

In the meantime…hid away,
Protected by her God;
Was a young maiden,
Who would declare Him…her LORD.

Gabriel appeared unto Mary,
Telling her of God's plan;
She could have said…"No",
But agreed to God's plan for man.

We all know the story,
Her fiance upset;
Until an angel of the LORD,
Put his mind to rest.

The census that brought them,
To Bethlehem that night;
No place in the Inn for them,
Their dwelling…a stable, in plain sight.

The angels did herald our newborn King,
"Peace on earth...good will to mankind.";
While shepherds in the field, in obeisance did kneel,
This, so over-whelming...they did find.

Emmanuel…God with us,
Long awaited Saviour…He;
A time to rejoice…for all of mankind,
Peace on earth…and so it shall be.

He's coming again…not as a babe,
His Kingdom establish…then;
We all have our own ideas,
The HOW…the WHERE…the WHEN.

But, the Truth…still remains,
He's coming again;
Let's be ready to meet Him,
With joyous HALLELUJAHs greet Him!
