************
A FREE SPIRIT is what I long to be.
One who hears and then…obeys;
Sensitive to Father’s still, small voice,
Free to do His will…each day.
With my heart ever sensitive,
To His beck and call;
So ‘one’ with Father,
That I can give my all.
Only in this way…only in this way,
Can my spirit be truly free;
Not encumbered by the will of man,
Free to be all that I can be.
What are the cares of today,
When measured against eternity?
They are so fleeting…quickly spent,
So shallow…yes…so empty.
Sometimes people and things,
Hold us back…wear us down;
These things ought not to be,
As we run this race for a crown. (1Cor.9:24-25)
And, run this race…surely we shall,
Either to Father’s glory…or our own;
To each of us… a day of reckoning,
Will we lay down our crown…at His throne?
Did we run the race in our own power,
Or was it in the power of His might?
Pressured by others and ourselves,
Or a FREE SPIRIT…Father’s delight?
