"Good morning!",
Every living creature…greeted me;
All were out in full display,
Putting forth their best…for all to see.

First came robin red breast,
Strutted out…across the lawn;
To capture that first worm,
Winter had been far too long.

His cheerful chirp rang out,
My heart within did leap;
Ah, the first signs of Spring,
Promises of things to come…did keep.

The little puppy…out on his walk,
Taking time to greet me with his hand-shake;
Puppy was so full of life,
He wanted everyone…his friend…to make.

Pussy willows…everywhere,
What is Spring…without them?
Pick some…bring them home,
Fuzzy little mittens…on long stems.

And, just around the corner,
Bulbs of all sorts began their display;
Snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils,
Out from their Winter beds…where they did lay.

Oh, ‘tis so refreshing,
When all Spring begins its song;
Promises of ‘new’ life,
The ‘old’…cannot stay too long!

Over head…what is this,
Something a dainty pink…in that tree?
Why…it is…it really is,
The first cherry blossom…for all to see.

Over in the pasture,
Very close to the barn;
Little balls of white and black,
Go leaping and bounding…free from harm.

Spring lambs…and in great number,
They are leaping…with ‘new’ life;
The very joy of birth…ecstatic,
As is the case…with all wild life.

Temperature…still a bit chilly,
Bundle-up…a little…we must;
Yes, nature is bursting forth,
But, not so, yet…with all of us.

Why do we…as humans,
Not learn something from all of these?
Our short life is so precious,
Every moment…we should seize.

Let nature teach us what it’s learned,
Far better…we would be;
Life could be a ‘Hoot’,
It’s our choice…you see!

"Good morning!",
Let’s greet everyone we meet;
Let our sunny disposition,
Reflect upon each one we greet.

The entire world would be changed,
By two short words…two short refrains;
A smile…two friendly words of welcome,
"Good morning!"
