HID IN MY HEART

Psalm 119: “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I HID IN MY HEART, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.”

************

When we read of His many deeds,
Great things in these lives…He has done;
Our faith is built-up…ever-increasing,
All His mighty acts…under the sun.

For, by His Word…the earth sprang forth,
He spoke it all into being;
This, in itself…no small task,
Yes, it was a major undertaking.

And, what is so amazing,
Is that His Word speaks to us still;
The more we read of His Word,
Ingrained in us…we want to do His will.

Each day of our lives,
We’re storing up a treasure;
The treasure of His Word,
So rich it is…beyond measure.

And, the Word that we have stored…inside,
Comes back to us…as we need it;
For we are “kept by the power of God”, (1 Peter 1:5)
Nothing of ourselves…not even a tiny bit.

“Thy Word have I hid in my heart,
That I might not sin against You”; (Psalm 119:11)
This is our heart’s cry…yours and mine,
Not our own will…but Your will…do!
