I AM PERSUADED

2 Timothy 1:8 “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and AM PERSUADED that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.”

Are you ashamed of the Gospel,
The “Good News” of our LORD?
His life…a testimony,
Emmanuel…with us…our God.

Willing to go to prison,
By hand and foot…bound;
To suffer blows for His name’s sake,
With the promise of an Eternal crown?

To believe on His name,
He…who has redeemed us;
Jesus…the Christ (Anointed One),
Lord of lords…King of kings.

We’re in the world,
But…we're not of it;
Ecclesia…called-out by our God,
In the world…we just don’t fit.

Was it by our good works,
That we obtained His mercy?
Or, was it totally undeserved,
Because of His Perfect Sacrifice…only?

God reached down to mankind,
Provided Himself a Lamb;
By His grace…our Saviour,
Gave new life to every woman and man.

PERSUADED…Yes…I am,
For He is able to keep;
All that I’ve given to Him,
Not piling up around me…so deep.

So, I’m storing up His Word,
Hiding each Word in my heart;
His Word is life-producing,
Mixed with faith…that’s where it starts.

He will accomplish all He promises,
Every Word is true;
By the Holy Spirit…IN us,
It is He…who will make all things new!
