************
Little children running,
Filled with glee are they;
Uninhibited and carefree,
All they want to do is play.
They laugh and shout,
Kick up their heels;
To them…all things are fun,
Roll in the grass…do cartwheels.
Their little hands do things to please,
A card to Mom and Dad they take;
Perhaps they clean up their rooms,
Or, even dinner…try to make.
They're so happy-go-lucky,
Why do we try to tie them down?
Make them so responsible,
They can no longer laugh…instead, they frown.
Many, long years later,
Our mistakes…we see;
We find ourselves so bound-up,
And, they…the same as we.
Now, we try so hard,
The child in us…to set free;
Let's STOP right now…evaluate,
Set things a'right…as they should be.
As a little child…I want to be,
Believing…trusting all;
The simplicity in Christ…to see,(2 Cor.11:3)
Not "BIG", in my own mind…but, like them…"small" !
