Lazarus

LAZARUS

Jn. 11: 39 "Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth."

Are we like Lazarus,
Lazarus of old;
Dead…in the grave 4 days and stinketh,
Just as the Bible told?

And, why did JESUS wait 4 days,
When Lazarus was ill?
Was it not to show God's Power,
Not His own…but God's will fulfill?

Do you feel like a dead man,
Beyond all hope and stinketh?
A definate need to be raised,
Surely…this is what you thinketh.

Christ Jesus raises the dead every day,
Those dead in their trespasses and sin; (Col. 2:13)
He gives us hope…victory,
A chance to begin…again.

Just what is the purpose,
Is it something we deserve;
I think not…nothing good in me,
From all that I've observe!

Why, just as with Lazarus,
God's Power put on display;
That we and others would believe,
All the time..not just on Sunday.

Christ Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life,
Our only Hope…within;
Call forth His Resurrection Life,
See your true life…now…begin!
