Let There Be Light

LET THERE BE LIGHT

Gen. 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
3 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."

Out across the land,
Darkness everywhere;
Dull and void…without form,
Desolate and bare.

Then, a Voice was heard,
So loud…as loud as thunder;
"Let there be light…",
So it says in Scripture.

Very first Word spoken,
Uttered by our Maker;
Positive Word…"Let",
To the world…He was Creator.

Still, another time of darkness,
Man hiding…lost in sin;
Our Father sent JESUS,
"Let there be Light"…again.

He calls all things into being,
By a single Word;
He still speaks today,
Some think…thunder, they have heard.

He's still calling Light to come forth,
Out of deepest darkness;
JESUS is that Light,
O God…give us that awareness.

Cause Your Light to shine forth,
From our hearts…deep within;
Let the Light of JESUS be seen,
Convict the world of sin.

Help us…LORD,
To come out of the night;
All darkness leave behind,
"Let there be Light."
