LOVE - MERCY - GRACE

James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

As Christians…we have heard a lot,
And, read a lot…also;
Saturated by the Word of God,
From babes…to toddlers grow.

The years fly by…stronger we become,
Spiritual muscles…now…have we;
But, are we muscle-bound,
Are we being all that we can be?

Father God has blessed us,
Showered us with LOVE - MERCY - GRACE;
All well and good…wonderful,
Now…go to Heaven…if that’s the case.

But, here we find ourselves,
And, here we shall remain;
Until the day of His choosing,
When we return ‘Home’…again.

What to do in the meantime,
Sit on our hands…I think not;
It’s time to pass it on,
All that we have got.

How can we show His LOVE,
When the unlovable exist?
When we reach out with loving hands,
And, they respond with a fist.

It’s easy to love the lovable,
But, not always the case…in real life;
Sometimes we are met with opposition,
This could be a time of great strife.

It takes two to create friction,
And, two…for ‘blows’ to fly;
On the other hand…it only takes one,
For discourse and ‘blows’ to die.

Because we’ve received Perfect Love,
It’s easy to love in return;
When we were unlovable…He loved us,
His Love was nothing we could earn.

Ask Father to help you love,
Unselfishly…unconditionally;
Ask Him to love others…through you,
For by ourselves…it’s impossible.

Because He has shown us MERCY,
Let us show mercy to others…also;
Perhaps they don’t deserve it,
But, that’s truly the way to go.

Mercy begets more mercy,
Walls of hate and distrust…disappear;
Mercy builds-up…encourages,
Erases our doubts and our fears.

If we have ever needed mercy,
We’ll know how good it can feel;
When we receive and give mercy,
Old wounds begin to heal.

Do you know how to be gracious,
To look the other way;
When someone purposely or not so,
With words or by actions…slay?

Each one of us have received grace,
It first came from our Heavenly Father;
We didn’t know to what extent,
But, we learned the power of His GRACE…later.

Grace…not a license to sin,
But…grace does bring liberty;
Liberty to be all we can IN Christ,
Grace sets the captives…free.

Extend this grace to others,
Encourage them to move ahead;
To bud…to blossom…to bring forth fruit,
In all their dealings…Holy Spirit led.

How can we…who have been given so much,
Hoard it to ourselves…alone?
We’ve received of His LOVE - MERCY - GRACE,
It’s to be given away…it’s not all our own.

It’s Father’s nature to expand,
To be ever…outward reaching;
To grow…encompass the universe,
Let’s begin…His kingdom seeking!
