PRAY FOR PEACE...SHALOM

Isaiah 2:3 “And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.”

Revelations 22:1 “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

Our hearts cry out…LORD,
In this…our time of greatest need;
Some cry out for war…some for peace,
To Your voice…we need to heed.

Our hearts’ cry is for Your will,
There is no peace…without…within;
The forces of good and of evil…do battle,
Both want to claim victory…the battle to win.

Many hearts will be broken,
Lives lost on both sides;
Families torn apart…forevermore,
We look to You…Father…to guide.

Wisdom to the nations’ leaders,
Cause them to seek Your face;
‘Before’ making important decisions,
Not ‘after’…as is sometimes the case.

Let us learn from past errors,
That history not be repeated;
Show us the way of good,
Let evil be overcome and defeated.

Help us to see where we are wrong,
Let our motives always be pure;
Teach us Your ways…LORD,
In the decisions we make…let us be sure.

We look for the day when our weapons,
Are melted-down and made anew;
Now they are tools used to build,
A better world for me and for you.

No longer division and strife,
Now…each caring for the other;
There will always be plenty to go around,
If each takes care of the other.

Then…healing shall come forth,
Our differences laid aside;
We’ll build what has been lain waste,
In our accomplishments…we’ll take pride.

The whole earth a virtual garden,
That’s how it can become;
Working along-side each other,
Back to the Garden of Eden…we have come!
