Reach out…when the world turns away,
The power of Love can’t be denied;
No matter how hard they may try,
Love will win out… its power not defied.

Reach out…when hardest to do so,
It’s not always an easy task;
To Love the unlovely,
This is what our Saviour asks.

Reach out…when we don’t want to,
Only in His strength…is it possible;
For, unlovely…we can all be,
By His grace…all things probable.

Reach out…take up the challenge,
Love cannot be denied;
It can be tested…turned away from,
And, rejected…but never denied.

Reach out…to a hurting world,
When others want to retaliate;
See where they’re coming from,
Walk that other mile with them…not debate.

Reach out…when they lash-out,
Themselves…they must defend;
Perhaps they have always stood alone,
A lifetime of abuse and misery without end.

Reach out…to those who are hurting,
Some of us have ‘been there’;
And, some of us have not,
Still, Love can permeate…everywhere.

Reach out…extend yourself,
There’s always someone with a need;
It’s in the giving…that we are blessed,
Give of yourselves…let Love fill that need!
