Would you dare to STAND ALONE,
If that be our Lord’s will;
Could you endure the criticism,
His will…to fulfill?

To be one amongst the masses,
To fit in…accepted be;
Bowing down to peer pressure,
Never to be yourself and free.

Oh, ‘tis so much easier,
To become just like ‘one of them’;
To fit into their mould,
Rather than to STAND ALONE…condemned.

What did our Lord do,
When they all turned their backs;
Did He succumb to the pressure,
When His faith was under attack?

He turned to His Father,
For strengthened…He must be;
He knew just where His strength was,
For He knew Father’s will…you see.

Son of God and Son of man,
Tempted…just as we;
Yet, He never sinned,
Nor from His purpose in life…did He flee.

What is Father’s will,
For you and for me?
To rush on ahead…without Him,
Upon our own plans and agenda…rely?

Wheeling…dealing, and scheming,
Caught-up in the worldly spin;
Rushing, rushing…always rushing,
On a treadmill where we never win.

Perhaps we appear…godly,
The outside of our cup is clean;
But, inside we are hypocrites,
This…by the world…is seen.

Or maybe we’re the real thing,
Desire…each and every day;
To hear that "still, small voice",
Do His will…in every way.

Still, we can get caught-up,
Do what all the others do;
And, it’s acceptable…surely,
But, is it what He has for you?

Why is it our tendency,
To want others to be just like me;
For surely…I love the Lord,
And, this is the way it’s done…you see.

What of the one who STANDS ALONE,
Different…he dares to be;
Dare we say that he is wrong,
Because he’s not like you and me?

Down…throughout the ages,
A few have STOOD ALONE;
In their time…despised by others,
In later years…like stars they’ve shone.

Get your calling…you election sure,
Be so tuned-in to His will;
Not His will for others…’round you,
But, for you…His will to fulfill.

STAND ALONE…if you must,
Don’t compromise your beliefs;
God needs those who dare to be different,
With them…fellowship…He keeps.

When we STAND ALONE,
And, all the world turns away;
We have to draw closer to our God,
To hear what He has to say.

Separated unto God,
Called-out for His purpose and plan;
STAND ALONE…if that’s His will,
In His strength…we can stand!
