*TAKE "CHRIST" OUT OF CHRISTMAS

Luke 2:7 “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

*Take “Christ” out of Christmas,
And, then…what remains?
A commercialized celebration,
Christ Jesus…came in vain!

There’s a cry going out…across the land,
Begun by just one person;
Under the guise of ‘civil liberty’,
Remove Christ from all the nations!

So subtle it begins,
A whisper that grows and grows;
Until its shout…like a thunder clap,
Christianity…dealt another blow!

Remove Christ from all our schools,
Remove Christ from Christmas plays;
Remove Christ from all greeting cards,
Everything except Christ…stays!

*Take “Christ” out of Christmas,
And, then…what remains?
A commercialized celebration,
Christ Jesus…came in vain!

Our forefathers came to a new land,
Where they could worship God;
Each one in their own way,
Religious freedom…they had sought.

Many have given up their lives,
This freedom to secure;
Tortured…burned at the stake,
Must we now give up more and more?

Where will we draw the line,
And say, “You can go no further”;
Stand up for what we believe,
If not…we’re caught in a dilemma.

*Take “Christ” out of Christmas,
And, then…what remains?
A commercialized celebration,
Christ Jesus…came in vain!

In by-gone days…people worshipped,
One…called the "unknown god";
On Mars’ hill…’twas proclaimed,
The way to know the one, true God.(Acts 17:22, 23)

Or…going further back,
When to Dagon the people bowed;
A fish-god he was…a huge statue,
But, to the ground…he tumbled.(1 Sam. 5:2-5)

What about “In God We Trust”,
Written on some nations' coins;
Is that the next thing to go,
As to this ‘movement’…more do join?

*Take “Christ” out of Christmas,
And, then…what remains?
A commercialized celebration,
Christ Jesus…came in vain!

Is there no room in the inn…today,
Christ has no place to lay His head?(Matthew 8:19, 20)
Shall we remove Christ,
And, lift up whom…instead?

He who left His home on high,
Humbled Himself…became one of us;
Son…became servant of all,
Emmanuel…”God with us”.(Matthew 1:23)

Shall we allow our beliefs to be taken away,
Robbing us…trampled under-foot;
The very center of our being,
Allow this ‘movement’ to take root?

*Take “Christ” out of Christmas,
And, then…what remains?
A commercialized celebration,
Christ Jesus…came in vain!

It’s time to come forward,
Indeed, to take a stand;
Christ is the “Reason for the season”;
Come on Christians…together…band!

‘Civil liberty’…Yes…and tolerance,
Each of us…for one another;
Not excluding…but, including,
Every father, mother…sister, brother.

Christmas is more than a word,
Its true meaning is LOVE;
Let’s be more loving…have more compassion,
Let the true meaning of Christmas be seen!

*Take “Christ” out of Christmas,
And, then…what remains?
A commercialized celebration,
Christ Jesus…came in vain!
