THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Psalm 139:1 "To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be LIGHT about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the LIGHT are both alike to thee."

John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the LIGHT of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the LIGHT of life.”

Ah, the wonders of our LORD and Creator,
He who is…and knows all things;
From the dust of the earth…He brought me,
And, His very life…to me…He brings.

There is not a thought that escapes Him,
So tuned-in to me…is He;
Ever watching…always caring,
From His presence…I cannot flee.

My darkest day…He turns to brightness,
And, my nights…He turns even these;
In Him…there is no darkness,
The LIGHT of the world…is He.

So, walk in that LIGHT…I shall do,
And, by His grace…I’ll not fall;
Far from that pit of darkness…I shall stay,
For it need not be…at all.

Our LORD has made every provision,
Because of His great Love…you see;
He causes LIGHT to spring forth…out of darkness,
Prisoners of the darkness…we need not be.

Doubt, fear, and superstition,
These things hide in the dark;
But, He has shone His great LIGHT,
Down there, deep…into our hearts.

Spring forth…thou mighty Christ,
Doubt, fear, and superstition…gone;
The LIGHT of the world…shine on so brightly,
Our LORD welcomes us…to His bright, new dawn!
