THIS IS THE DAY…a brand-new day,
What does it have in store?
A day unlike any other,
Not like any day…before.

With great expectation,
I spring out of bed;
The doubts and fears of yesterday,
All gone…the things I dread!

Too long…I was held down,
By a dozen different things;
All confidence was gone,
My faith…my trust…was lacking.

But, the sun arose…THIS IS THE DAY,
And, with it…shining bright;
I chose to venture forth,
To run…to leap with great delight!

And, “Why not?”…I did say,
“I’ve been down and out too long;
My Father has too much planned for me,
To be down-cast and forlorn.”

Yesterday is gone forever,
With it…all the things I feared;
Most of them never happened,
To me…that was made so clear.

What does the future hold,
Nobody can really tell;
Why fret and worry about it,
And, on the unknown…dwell?

THIS IS THE DAY…it’s all that we have,
So, let’s make it a great day;
Let’s be loving…caring…giving,
Life is happier…this way!
