************
Have you raised many children,
Raised them…as you thought you should?
And, was the task a hard one,
Still…you did the very best you could?
Parenthood…oft times thankless,
Still…an investment…for sure;
From infant…to toddler,
Teens and then…mature.
They crawl…they creep,
They walk…they run;
One day they go away,
It happens to each and every one.
Their own person…they became,
And, so it had to be;
It was time for them to go,
And, so we set them free.
They’ll have many hard times,
We’d spare them…if we could;
But, they’d never grow up…would they,
And, be all that they should?
The hardest thing for a parent,
Is to watch from the side-lines;
The good and bad choices they make,
Now, a mixture…they combine.
Our heavenly Father…our Parent,
Guides each step we take;
He watches over us…constantly,
Sees each decision we make.
Still, His hands are tied,
For…free will He’s given us;
Puppets…we are not,
He has taught us…and now He trusts.
All the time that He’s invested,
All He’s spoken to our heart;
His Word shall not return void,(Isaiah 55:11)
His very life…It will impart.
Oh, yes…there will be rebellion,
As we try to go our own way;
But, His Word is powerful,
And…from It…we’ll not stray.
His Word will accomplish all,
All that It was sent out to do;
Sooner or later…we’ll believe,
His every Word is true.
It may take a lifetime,
Or perhaps we’re quick learners;
But, we’ll return back to Him,
For…He’s our Father…our Maker.
So, don’t become discouraged,
When grown-children go astray;
For…His Word…His Seed is planted,
They will return…and we shall see that day!
