With a heart that’s overflowing,
Overflowing with God’s Love;
TRUE SHEPHERDS reach out,
With what they have received…from Above.

A hand extended…to help,
A word of ‘life’ to impart;
TRUE SHEPHERDS are always aware of our needs,
They are after God’s own heart.

Building bigger and better buildings,
To accommodate larger crowds;
All for the glory of God…really?
With their whited tombs and dressed in their shrouds.

No, TRUE SHEPHERDS are not building,
Anything of earthly worth;
Their treasure is laid-up in Heaven,
They’re not tied-down to things of this earth.

And, more than just ‘birthing’ babies,
Spiritual babies…that will fill the pews;
They feed them the Word that will nourish,
Grow them up…not hold them back and subdue.

Mature…spiritual people,
Able to give…as they have received;
Fit for Father’s use and the kingdom,
Growing stronger in faith…as we believe.

There are not many TRUE SHEPHERDS,
Who put God first…have none of their own plans;
When you find one…who follows Christ,
Follow after that one…as fast as you can!
