Seeing, Feeling, Hearing, Thinking
By Grant Powell

Entering the room, I look around-
seeing, feeling, hearing, thinking.
Seeing the beautiful woman in the corner.
Feeling the attraction that I have to her, deep within my heart.
Hearing her soft, feminine voice echo over to my ears.
Thinking that she is so beautiful.

Seeing her face in front of mine as I ask her to dance.
Feeling the hope within my heart.
Hearing her voice come to me once more,
Thinking that I may have a chance.

Seeing her face looking disgusted,
Feeling my heart race as she speaks,
Hearing the words of her rejection,
Thinking that something is wrong with me.

Seeing the raging river below the bridge,
Feeling the salty air blow across me,
Hearing the honking of traffic behind me,
Thinking that I need to die.

Seeing the burning walls around me,
Feeling the agony within me,
Hearing the screams of millions of begotten souls,
Thinking that it was not worth it,
As I burn forever in Hell.

-Eternal Pool-

In this eternal pool called life, we are always searching
searching for someone to have.
Searching for someone to live with, to hold, to love.
Someone with a heart as soft as a small white dove, that can take over your heart.

In this eternal pool called life, there are always people
who will try to take you for granted.
Who will try and tell you to die, you're worthless, you're stupid.
The one thing to remember is that if you wish a result, you cannot
fail, nothing is beyond your reach.
That the one true thing that people need, love, cannot be bought, and can teach
a person who they really are, and can show you who really cares.

There are those in life that simply use you, for money or looks or fame,
trust me when I say that if you have that kind of dame,
you're looking in all the wrong places, in the wrong street or lane,
you need to look within yourself, before looking at the world.

In this eternal pool called life, you might not have it good.
You might not have money, cars, or a house like some think you should.
You must look past that, beyond, to what is really important--
the love of a single person can make all of that unimportant.
For when you find that one person that is important, it will all fall together, and you will be happy.

-Always Remembered-

War is of death,
It is of darkness.
It is of sadness,
It is of need.
But from it, good may come.
Heros, of shining integrity,
And memories to be shared.
Always, it leaves a legacy.

It can be honourable,
Or committed with cowardice.
But we must always remember
Those that protect us through it.

They race fearlessly onto the breech,
And lay their lives on the line,
All for people at home,
And for the Freedom we take for granted.

They charge in droves,
To do what is needed.
As such, and more, they are remembered,
In our souls, Forever.

For those that live,
They come home,
To their women and children,
To all that is wholesome.

For those that die,
That make the last sacrifice,
A place in heaven awaits,
As does eternal life, in our hearts.
Whatever the case,
There are memories.
Living or dead,
Hero, or normal man,
May We Never Forget.

-Dedicated to the soldiers who fearlessly protected and still protect our country, in all wars from the Revolution to Afghanistan. We will never forget.

-Turnaround-

The world is against me,
but nothing I fear,
For life is all I see,
but Death is all I hear.

I wanted to die,
go Six feet under,
to not even try,
But then I remember-

No matter how low I go,
how far I concede defeat,
The few friends I have,
can overcome all.

Dedicated to the few good, decent friends
that I have remaining after all of the things I have done-
They deserve it, for standing beside me.

Denied Love, by Grant Powell.

As if the mind had wings,
She stood before me.
As if the body was amazing,
She stood before me.

I ask for her hand,
She replies questionably.
I ask her again, and she says nothing.
I ask her finally, she says no.

The life of me is like that,
Lonely and undesirable.
Wish I could change it,
But that would be cheating fate.

I only wish for love,
From the one I know who can give it.
I only wish for closeness,
But She will not give it.

I wish for lasting love,
She does not want it.
I ask for anything more,
And she gives friendship.

This is not what is needed,
But it must do.
I shall always hold in my heart,
The chance for mutual love.

-Dedicated to Alisia2K,
Whom I shall always love.
