NBC Live:
From the NBC Live Studio at Yahoo! Chat .. you'll be able to chat with Randy Spelling of NBC's "Sunset Beach."

NBC Live:
Randy will be joining us in just over 10 minutes. Be sure to get your questions in!

NBC Live:
Randy will be joining us shortly. We'll be starting momentarily.... thank you for your patience.

NBC Live:
Randy is now with us! Welcome, Randy, to the NBC Live Studio at Yahoo!

Randy Spelling:
What's up everybody!

Auto_Override:
hello Randy, i was wondering how do you like the show Sunset Beach?

Randy Spelling:
The show's cool. I've had a lot of fun on it for the past year. We have an exciting new story line called Terror Island.

NBC Live:
Can you tease Terror Island for us?

Randy Spelling:
Well, it's an island filled with terror :-) We all get together to celebrate New Year's and I guess we'll never be celebrating New Year's again like that. No one's lives will be the same.

NBC Live:
So we'll basically be glued to our TV for Terror Island.

Manders33:
Who is your favorite actor/actress to work with on the show?

Randy Spelling:
I'd have to say Leslie Anne Downs. The first day I was a little nervous and she came up to me and started making her English jokes and made me feel so comfortable. For the next 2 weeks all my scenes were pretty much with her, and we had a blast...

NBC Live:
How have your experiences on "Sunset Beach" differed from "90210 or "Malibu Shores"?

Randy Spelling:
Well it's a different character. Malibu Shores was a kid from the different side of the tracks who had to deal with a lot of BS, and 90210 he was pretty much the opposite, he was a spoiled little kid. And this is a different character in itself, because he's the son of a rich family and he really doesn't like the position he's in. It's sad.

Nothinspecial1:
What would you like to see Sean do in the future?

Randy Spelling:
I would like for Sean to have some sort of love interest. I don't know, I'd like to see him interact with more people on the show and have more stories in terms of different messages.

Tjohnson1969:
I JUST WANT TO SAY CONGRADULATIONS ON ALMOST YOUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE SHOW----- WHAT'S IN STORE FOR NEXT YEAR?

Randy Spelling:
Thank you very much. Next year, you know what? You can tell I only work on the show, I know story lines only 2 days in advance.

Krista31:
Eric your scenes with Tommy are so funny, and the rape story was great stuff for you and congrats on your nomination.

Randy Spelling:
Thank you very much, I'm glad you do enjoy them, and hopefully there will be more scenes with both Tommy and I and Toni and I to come.

Randy Spelling:
Like I said before, Terror Island is coming up. It's like Scream and it's filled with terror- it scared me when I was doing it.

Ragnarock18:
How did you get into the acting scene?

Randy Spelling:
I studied for a couple years, like 3 or 4 years ago, in acting classes. Then I was sick for spring break and my parents wouldn't let me go out, so I got a video camera and sat down and wrote this whole screenplay and we did that.

NBC Live:
What have been the differences working on Prime Time or Daytime?

Randy Spelling:
There's a lot of differences. The style of acting is a little different, the film is different- one's film, one's tape. There's more cameras, when you're filming there's one and when you tape there's 3 or sometimes 4.

Nothinspecial1:
What character would you most like to be if you couldn't be Sean?

Randy Spelling:
Everyone wants to be Deschanel!

Precious_lady:
Randy, will your character have a girlfriend soon? if yes, then who is it going to be?

Randy Spelling:
As I said earlier, I hope I have a love interest soon. I would love to hopefully soon have one, but I don't know who it will be. Stay tuned and watch.

Nothinspecial1:
What was it lijke to film the scene where Sean was getting strangled by the hitman?

Randy Spelling:
Painful, because we really went for it, so the guy really held me up to the bars and strangled me. He went for it. It was the day after my birthday and I was just getting manhandled. I got ripped out of my bed, I got thrown up against the bars, I got strangled, and right after that my dad comes in and slapped me- I mean he really slapped me!

I_M_BMW:
Do you think that your character is handling the situation with his family in the right way?

Randy Spelling:
Yeah. I know I'd handle it the same way in real life if my family was really like that. I think there's a lot of reality to it, because my dad on the show, he's gone too far, he's gone way too far. I think Sean is just outraged.

Kara_Br:
What are you getting Tori for Hanukkah?

Randy Spelling:
If I tell you, she might be online reading this!

Scooby_Kim:
Hey Randy!! First of all, just wanted to tell you I think you are doing a great job!!! My question is I know you have a band that you play in, have you been able to play as much as you would like to with all your work on Sunset Beach? I hope you and yo.

Randy Spelling:
Thank you very much. It's more a group than a band, but I do all the music for it. No, I can't do it as much as I'd like to, but I get my time in.

Onesexebabe:
what kind of music do you listen to?

Randy Spelling:
I like it all, I listen to hip hop, R & B, and I like jazz.

Czlark:
Is it true that you write lyrics for songs?

Randy Spelling:
Of course. The reason why I say that is if you're an artist, that's the way you express yourself. Especially in rap, you write your own lyrics.

HotforRandy:
I read somewhere that Jason George likes to dance and sometimes spontaneously "gets down" on the set. Is this true?

Randy Spelling:
Yes. He does pirouettes all across the set.

I_M_BMW:
Do you think it is right of Caitlen to keep the truth from Cole? Or anyone for that matter?

Tetsuo_97:
I'm from England where SB has a small, growing and loyal audience. What do you think it is that makes SB popular in different parts of the world?

Randy Spelling:
No, because I think if she'd told him at the beginning it would have eliminated all this drama. The more time that goes on, the harder it is to be honest with her. Oh boy. I think everyone likes to see a beach show, and where you don't like to see the beach it's "Sunset Beach" and everyone likes to see good weather.

SUPERVIXEN_15:
Do you think you will go on to do bigger things in the industry(direct, etc..)?

Randy Spelling:
Yeah, I would like to. I definitely want to get into those things a little bit later.

Danneka
Who has been the most influential person in your life?

Randy Spelling:
My father. Just 'cause I've grown up watching him work and I've watched behind the scenes him put things together.

HotforRandy:
Randy, is it difficult showing up for work every day where you're surrounded by beautiful women like Meg, Caitlin, Annie, Paula and the rest?

Randy Spelling:
Well, no, it's definitely easy on the eyes. But it's funny 'cause when you work with people so closely all the time they're more of a family than people you'd really be attracted to.

HotforRandy:
Is the location shooting more fun/difficult/challenging than the in studio scenes?

Randy Spelling:
It's nice to get away from the studio every once in awhile. It's nice shooting on the beach, but shooting in the studio is more convenient.

Topaz2_97:
Do you have any outside projects currently planned, ie, guest appearances on other shows or whatever?

Randy Spelling:
No, not right now, I've been pretty busy with Sunset.

Juliet04:
Who is your fave poet?

Randy Spelling:
I actually have a lot. When I was little I used to love Edgar Allen Poe, and Lord Byron and Robert Frost.

Scooby_Kim:
I am from the same town as Susan Ward (Meg) and was wondering if you have gotten a chance to work with her? I think you should give Ben a run for his money!!

Randy Spelling:
...and DH Lawrence.

Randy Spelling:
Yeah, I worked with her on this and on Malibu Shores. She's great to work with.

Tetsuo_97:
Have there ever been any really funny out-takes where you forgot your lines or knocked something over on set?

Randy Spelling:
There's been a million! Once on Sunset Beach there was this one day where I could not remember this one line and I kept making things up that were so funny. Another time, not on Sunset, I had to throw a bottle at this kid and we were facing the cameras and I threw this bottle really hard and it just hit the camera!

SUPERVIXEN_15:
Is it hard putting up with screaming fans? Does it get annoying?

Randy Spelling:
No, I think it's nice to hear people support your work and your show. Without the fans we wouldn't have a show.

Saudgirl:
Do you get a lot of fan mail from the U.K.?

Randy Spelling:
Actually yeah. I get some letters from the UK, I get quite a few.

SIMPLE_2:
What is your favorite book? Movie?

Randy Spelling:
I just saw an incredible movie- Good Will Hunting. It is a great movie!

ShellnCove:
What do you do for fun, outside of acting?

Randy Spelling:
Well the big thing is my music, I just set up in the studio and work, make music. I mean, besides going out and going to clubs.

Precious_lady:
Randy, do you have a girlfriend in a real life, if yes who's she? sorry for all the questions about girlfriends :o)

Jstick21:
If you could be the writer, what would you write for your character?

Randy Spelling:
Dear Precious, no, I don't have a girlfriend.

Kandaria97:
what sports do you like?

Randy Spelling:
When I was little I played tennis, but I like volleyball and I love basketball.

Topaz2_97:
What should Sean get for Christmas?

Randy Spelling:
Well, since Sean isn't into very materialistic things, I think what would make him happy is something that isn't very materialistic- like a woman.

Danneka:
Have you written any scripts or have any ideas for future projects?

Randy Spelling:
Yeah, I'm constantly thinking of ideas, when I get the time I'll write them down. And I've written a couple so far.

Davespad:
Do you miss working on Beverly Hills 90210? Do you still hang out with those guys?

Randy Spelling:
A couple of them, but yeah, I miss it, but it's cool because I've known them for so long and I knew them before I was on the show.

SIMPLE_2
Robert Frost is buried in Bennington Vermont. Have you ever visited?

Randy Spelling:
No I haven't.

Davespad:
What's your favorite LA nighttime hangout? Have you been to Skybar?

Randy Spelling:
Yeah, of course I've been to the sky bar.

Danneka:
Do you plan to focus more on music or on acting?

Randy Spelling:
Well, it's different because acting is my job and music is more a passion. But I'm focus on music whenever I get the chance, and when I'm working I focus on work. But I would love to devote more time to music.

Sweet_Juliet_14:
I watch the show everyday, do you think Caitlin, you, and Olivia will reunite with Gregory and forgive him?

Randy Spelling:
I think there might be a chance. Stay tuned!

Barbie45833:
wow!! your hot!!!! can i go on a date with you?

Randy Spelling:
Do you really look like Barbie? If you actually look like Barbie, I'll be Ken!

FairuzaX:
Do you ever get angry at any of the characters on the show? I know sometimes I do.

Randy Spelling:
ou know what, when I'm watching it as a viewer, then I get angry, I find myself talking to the TV, like "Aww, don't do that!"

Davespad:
Tell me about Ian Ziering (older bro on 90210). What's he like? He seems like a cool guy.

Randy Spelling:
He's cool. He's a really really nice guy, and in person he's hysterical.

JulieO12:
Randy, I have tickets to Knicks vs. Hawks on April 7. Would you like to come with me?

Randy Spelling:
Aww, what a great game! If I could I would love to. If you're a Hawks fan, you better watch out, because the Lakers are coming to meet the Hawks tomorrow!

Lemon_Dog:
Do any of your aunts ever pinch your cheeks at family gatherings?

Randy Spelling:
Oh my, they used to all the time. I had this one aunt, my full name is Randall Jean, and she would always go "Randall Jean, come here, come here" and pinch my cheeks.

Cassandra_Quebec:
Besides Sunset, witch are your favorite TV shows?

Randy Spelling:
To be honest, the four I really watch are Melrose, 90210, Party of Five and 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Manders33:
Do you have any say in what your character does?

Randy Spelling:
Not really.

SlikHik:
Randy, horror films have become popular recently, Would you ever be in one?

Randy Spelling:
Yeah, I would loved to be. I felt like I was doing one when we filmed Terror Island!

Seth_G:
What was your favorite roll you encountered?? why??

Randy Spelling:
One of my favorites was Malibu Shores, because it was so fun. It was so different, because there was a lot of comical stuff, and I love doing comedy.

NBC Live:
What are your holiday plans?

Randy Spelling:
I'm going to spend Christmas with my family, and on Christmas Eve we usually have a little party. And Christmas we always wake up at like 10 and open presents all day. And the day after that, I'm going to Europe.

NBC Live:
Do you have a favorite holiday memory?

Randy Spelling:
My favorite memory is we were supposed to go skiiing when I was really little, and something happened that we couldn't go. So my dad had a snow machine come in and made a hill for tobogganing on the tennis courts and we slid down it for days. I felt like Moses, I had the mountain come to me!

Zinn007:
what would u study if you went to college-besides acting and music?

Randy Spelling:
I would love to study history or astronomy or psychology, because there are some incredible classes. I would love to take a world psychology class.

Lemon_Dog:
If you were captured by man-eating cows, would you use brains or brawn to escape?

Randy Spelling:
Brain of course! You always have to have a strategy in life.

Sweet_Juliet_14:
What about Ben, did he really kill Maria?

Randy Spelling:
I wish I knew!

Davespad:
Randy, your sister went on Howard Stern. Would you?

Randy Spelling:
Yeah.

Davespad:
Which do you prefer: Beverly Center or Century City Marketplace?

Randy Spelling:
Actually, the last three weekends I've gone to the Beverly Center to go Christmas shopping.

Danneka:
Do you have advice for an aspiring actress?

Randy Spelling:
If it's something you really want, just keep on going after it. If that's where your heart is, follow your heart.

Spellbasketweave:
How has the show changed over the course of it's first year? 2) How has the character of Sean evolved?

Randy Spelling:
I think the character overall has become a lot stronger and more confident.
