The Truth Won't Get Out

by Allison McCulloch

Sometimes I can't communicate with you
I know I don't have the words to get through
You're reading a book on auras, you can't live without weed
I contemplate, can't relate and am struck by a need to

Explain the insane desire to pour my heart out
Don't you ever doubt
That I wouldn't be open
That my heart's not broken
I don't try to deny how my life is like a book
With pages falling out, everywhere you look
But when I open my mouth
The truth won't get out

Sometimes I sense that we both are getting on
Without realising that we both could be wrong
I don't have all the answers at my command
But it takes a step of faith when we don't understand
