    If Scott Walker sang one of my songs, then I'd never work again. I'd like him to cover 'Someone' from the new album.

    Louts.

  5. Have you ever smashed up a hotel room?
    Only by accident. I fell over in the bath and pulled the shower thing off the wall.

    I've never had a proper job.

  7. What would you do if you hadn't developed your musical talents?
     I'd be a drunken bum.

  8. When were you most frightened?
    When my geography teacher threw me in the deep end when I couldn't swim, in about 1984. I went down for my third time, and luckily a classmate rescued me and pulled me to the side before I drowned and a genius was lost forever.
    Did you have a near death experience?
    No, just a near drowning experience.

    I wish I knew, I used to be the most relaxed man on the planet, but I'm the opposite now. A few weeks in a health farm would do.

     I am confident of my own ability.

    I'm happy with my ugliness.

    Don't get through many books now. I never have time.

    Generally I go for 'Roman Holiday'.

    A big expensive meal with friends.

    Yes, I like it. I like watching 'Equinox' and Channel 4 documentaries of that ilk.

    Never.

    Manchester United.

  18. Do you look after yourself? Who does your laundry?
    I don't look after myself and nobody else looks after me either.

     I don't have any.

    'Vienna' by Ultravox.

    I like to go to Tower Records and buy a whole bundle at once. The last one I bought was 'A Love Supreme' by John Coltrane.

    I don't like the Spice Girls.
