Humble Hands
aged yet gentle
grow wild with love
burned brown from the sun
edged in marks of his trade
warm and kind
yet strong and immense
gestures as he speaks
caresses as he comforts
come together as he prays
compared to mine there hugh
but to him there just humble hands
read the lines in those hands
it will tell his story
they show his hard work
and are carved of his age
those hands hold his time
and reminds him of his life
I hold his hand to mine
and feel safe once again
in those humble hands.
