Drinking From My Saucer

I've never made a fortune
and it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow

And as I go along life's way
I'm reaping better than I sow
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

Haven't got a lot of riches
and sometimes the going's tough
But I've got loving ones around me
and that makes me rich enough

I thank God for his blessings and
The mercies He's bestowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

I remember times when things went wrong
My faith wore somewhat thin
But all at once, the dark clouds broke
and sun peeped through again.

So Lord, help me not to gripe
about the tough rows that I've hoed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

God gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough
I'll not ask for other blessings
I'm already blessed enough

And may I never be too busy
to help others bear their loads
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,
but to be fearless in facing them.

When I want something, and tell Him so,
it will happen.
The key is believing
with all my heart.

Reality is what we take to be true.
What we take to be true
is what we believe.
What we believe
is based on our perceptions.
What we perceive
depends on what we look for.
What we look for
depends on what we think.
What we think depends
on what we perceive.
What we perceive
determines what we take to be true.
What we take to be true
is our reality.

The biggest room in the world
is the room for improvement.

Feel the fear...and do it anyway.

Flatter me and I may not believe you.
Criticize me and I may not like you.
Ignore me and I may not forgive you.
Encourage me and I may not forget you.

He who knows much about others
May be learned,
But he who understands himself
Is more intelligent.

He who controls others
May be powerful,
But he who has mastered himself
Is mightier still.

What you do speaks so loudly
I can't hear what you say.

When you have nothing to say, say nothing.

FRIENDS
Buddah Baby's Homey Home

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed.
They make you smile, and
encourage you to succeed.

A special thanks to my sister (and best friend), Mary,
without her I wouldn't be where I am now!

"Somewhere there's someone who dreams of your smile
And finds in your presence that life is worthwhile,
So when you are lonely, remember it's true:
Somebody, Somewhere is thinking of you."

God's Boxes of Love
I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,
And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I stored
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black box
I wanted to find out how...
And I saw the hole, in the base of the box,
where my sorrows had fallen out.

I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me."
I asked, "God, why give me the boxes,
Why the gold, and the black with the hole?"
"My child,
the gold is for you to count your blessings in,
the black is for you to let go."

It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.

See?!?!?!

The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

A closed mouth gathers no feet.

If you're living on the edge,
make sure you're wearing your seat belt.

Living on Earth is expensive,
but it does include a free trip around the sun.

Eat a live toad first thing in the morning,
and nothing worse can happen to you
the rest of the day!
(Ewwwww!)

Everybody, Somebody, Nobody & Anybody

Once upon a time, there were four people; Their names were Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Whenever there was an important job to be done, Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. When Nobody did it, Everybody got angry because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Nobody would do it.

So consequently Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done in the first place.

Absence is to love what wind is to fire;
It extinguishes the small,
and kindles the great.

Common Sense Is Not So Common

The only man who is really free
is the one who can turn down an invitation to dinner
without giving an excuse.

It is nice to be important,
but more important to be nice.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

I find that the harder I work,
the more luck I seem to have.
Thomas Jefferson

Being Kind

If you were busy being kind,
Before you knew it, you would find
You'd soon forget to think 'twas true
That someone was unkind to you.
If you were busy being glad,
And cheering people who are sad,
Although your heart might ache a bit,
You'd soon forget to notice it.

 ---Rebecca Foresman

If you smile when no one else is around,
you really mean it.

To the World you may be just one person,
but to one person, you may be the World.

The person who aims at nothing is sure to hit it.
