You know the path to finding a true friend is like a river leading to a waterfall,

Ever changing with the current as it tumbles over the rocks and sand,

You're like a dreamer following it,

Trying to learn from what you've left behind and wondering what today will bring.

It seems like you're fighting a battle to find those you can trust and call a true friend.

You've followed this river for years it seems,

Will continue to follow it until my last day or until you land in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall.

Fore in that pool will be your true friends, like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

We too often stand up on the shoreline and watch the current pass us by,

Not daring to take a chance and risk the rapids.

Too many times before one you had believed to be a friend turned around and hurt you, used you for there own gain.

You never want to go through that pain again.

Then you decide it's worth the risk to take the plunge and dive into the river,

Knowing that there will be rough waters and stormy skies,

That pain and tears will litter the river as it had before.

But the Good lord is there to make sure that at the end of the river is your waterfall,

So you know that there will also be smiles and happiness,

And when you slide down that waterfall, and land in that pool at the bottom

You know that you will find true friends waiting to welcome you.

Then you will know that the ride down the river was worth the risk.
