ATTENTION ANSTEADS!
Spring 1999

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the 1999 Anstead Family Reunion will not be held in Myrtle Beach, SC this summer.

Roy Anstead suggested that as an alternative, any Ansteads who are interested can meet back at Cacapon Resort State Park (the site of the 1998 Reunion) for an informal gathering.

The proximity of Cacapon to major urban areas in the northeastern United States, coupled with such amenities as a recently redecorated 49-room lodge, 30 completely furnished cabins in a variety of sizes and styles, an 18-hole championship golf course and a full range of other recreational facilities make Cacapon an ideal location for a vacation. A year-round interpretive program and mild climate combine to make the resort a fine choice for an off-season excursion or conference site, as well.

The formidable ridge of Cacapon Mountain dominates the view from nearly any point in this long, narrow preserve. Hiking and bridle trails climb 1,400 feet to its summit, affording commanding views of the surrounding countryside. Tennis, game courts, picnicking, horseback riding and lake swimming, boating and fishing round out the recreational possibilities.

If you are interested, please contact Roy at (301)438-3334.

Reservations at Cacapon can be made by calling (304) 258-1022.  There is generally a two-night minimum in season.

We are also looking for volunteer hosts for the 2000 Reunion.  If you are interested in hosting, or have any additional questions, please contact me at ansteadsue@aol.com.

See you in June!
