S. A. M.
Society of Anthropology Mentors

Welcome to CSUF! First, a little bit about S.A.M. The Society for Anthropology Mentors started in the Spring of 1995 and was designed to help interested students get familiar, comfortable, and involved with the Anthropology programs at CSUF. This is how it works: a graduate student (most of the time) is set up with a new Anthropology student or anyone else who wants to meet new Anthro people and get involved in the programs. Viola, a Mentor/Mentee relationship is born! The Mentor can accompany the Mentee to events, meetings, etc., help you arrange your classes, tell you about the graduation requirements, and all the other good stuff to help you get involved and on the right track. See? It's easy!

Now, what you need to do. I can be reached two ways:

By phone. Monica Trigg (714) 528-5665
Via E-mail: xmtrigg@ccvax.fullerton.edu

Call or E-mail me and let me know that your interested. You can meet with me, and some of our Mentors, and find one that you like (an easy task, I assure you). From there, the Mentor will work with you to build a great existence in the Anthropology Department and at Cal State Fullerton in general. Getting involved not only helps you have a positive attitude about school, which helps your studies and grades, but it also looks great on you Curriculum Vitae or resume.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Monica Trigg
S.A.M. President
