Lesson # 27d: Stones

There are many items that we use to practice magick. In truth, magick comes from within and not the tools but herbs, oils, stones, candles, and other items that we use help us to focus energy. Each has its own special energy that helps in the particular magick we are doing. That is what helps us to focus for a spell. Each herb, oil, stone, and candle color has specific purposes. There is often variations of these purposes from various people who practice magick but generally there are some basics that agree for the most part. In this lesson, I would like you to explore stones more in depth.

Stones have always been an important magickal tool for those who practice magick. Each stone offers its own unique energy to a spell or ritual. Many use stones like clear quartz to protect their homes and themselves. Stones might be worn as pendants, laid around the home, or used for a particular spellwork. There are a great many stones to choose and each has its own magickal property. Stones might also be used to decorate other ritual tools like a wand or staff or they might even be used in divination practices like a pendulum. There is a lot of information available to you about each kind of stone and its use. You will find lots of internet sources and several books. Scott Cunningham has a book specifically about stones that should be easy to use and understand. Use this lesson to research the correspondences and types of stones.
